Capital One Director of Engineering

I'm currently Sr. Director at Capital One, focusing on Agentic AI. Earlier, I was senior engineering leader in Generative AI, driving large-scale ML infrastructure and operations that power multi-modal LLMs across text, speech, music, and video. At Amazon’s AGI organization, I led a global team of 140+ ML engineers, collaborating with 600+ researchers to deliver petabyte-scale data prep, high-performance model training, synthetic data generation, and evaluation frameworks. I’ve led the end-to-end training of foundational models like Amazon Nova Sonic, built unified training systems on GPU/Trainium, and delivered automated RL pipelines and zero-touch evaluation platforms—accelerating time-to-insight, reproducibility, and model launch velocity. I also created scalable ML toolchains adopted by hundreds of scientists and helped streamline compliance with data lineage and governance systems. Over the past 11+ years in leadership and 22+ years in tech, I’ve built and grown teams that thrive—earning top 25% org health scores year after year. I take pride in mentoring senior managers, engineers and Principals, while scaling bold technical visions into sustainable, user-first platforms. With a Ph.D. in ML, 9 patents, and 16 peer-reviewed papers, I’m deeply rooted in both research and applied engineering.
