Senior Data Engineer at TikTok

I’m a Senior Fullstack Engineer specializing in backend systems, high-throughput financial payments infrastructure, cloud orchestration (AWS/GCP/K8s/Baremetal), and large-scale distributed data systems. Over my career, I've deliberately targeted different dimensions of engineering scale: (1) At TikTok (Data platform team), I engineered a cluster operator that manages the end-to-end lifecycle of our cloud data warehouse infrastructure at a petabyte level. As a team, we delivered ByteHouse, the end product that competes with "Snowflake". ByteHouse supports provisioning on AWS marketplace. (2) At Arta Finance (Trading team), I spearheaded the development of a near real-time market data analytics platform and equities analytics job by integrating real-time data feeds into a dynamic data lake. (3) At Thought Machine (Payments team), I moved into the bedrock of enterprise finance, leading the design of event-driven payment rails in Go and Kafka. That processed 25,000 transactions per second for Tier-1 banks, while maintaining strict sub-200ms SLAs and PCI-DSS compliance. (4) At Facebook Meta (ENS Data Centre team), I integrated agentic workflows and ML into our data centre operations that includes automated Network devices provisioning and deployments, predictive model for logistics + inventory tracking, and Enterprise Vendors coordinations to support expansions of Meta's point-of-presence and edge network posts that are interconnected and distributed globally. My distributed systems expertise encompasses a wide range of technologies including Scala, Python, Golang, Java, Kubernetes, Apache Parquet, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink and Apache Spark, allowing me to architect robust data ingestion and real-time processing pipelines.
