so autocomplete is when you type something and words show up. its pretty useful
and most websites have it these days. google has it, amazon has it, youtube has
it. basically everywhere you look there's autocomplete.

the way it works is the system looks at what you're typing and tries to guess
what you want. it uses data from other people who searched before you. so if
lots of people searched "how to make pasta" then when you type "how to make"
it'll probably show that.

you need a database to store all the words. the database has to be fast because
people type fast and don't want to wait. you also need servers. the servers
handle the requests that come in when people type. if you have a lot of users
you might need more servers.

for the frontend you'd use javascript probably. like an event listener on the
search box that fires when the user types and then calls the backend and shows
the results in a dropdown below the box.

caching is also good to use. if something is popular you cache it so it's
faster. redis is a tool people use for caching.

you should also make sure it works on mobile because a lot of people use their
phones now. and it should be accessible too for screen readers and stuff.

overall autocomplete is a pretty important feature and if you build it well
users will have a better experience on your website or app.
