okay so to answer this question first i will start with a few questions that i
have in mind primarily to understand that what kind of calories are we looking
at what kind of museum visitors are we looking at are we looking at historical
places are we looking at scientific places geographical places accordingly maybe
the answer changes for now we are assuming it to be historic do we have all kind
of technology at our repository assuming that translates to a good amount of six
months to year worth of time or more than that to make this possible or are we
on a short period of time to make this happen so that if we are on a short
period the answers would change accordingly and the answers would be one time
answers not long term and lastly are we looking at a specific geography the type
of users change are we talking about indian museums museums in london etc etc
right so assuming it to be in India right now coming to the goal the goal after
all of this is understood from the question which is engagement but in
engagement my understanding is that we need to take two things into account one
is time spent within the premises itself and secondly the number of people the
footfall of the gen z folks coming to this museum so obviously we cannot
increase the footfall while also them not spending enough time inside the museum
so we need to optimize for work so that's the summary so we have to work on
something that increases the engagement among gen z visitors in museum and
accordingly works so firstly we'll discuss what kind of users we have so the
structure looks like this we'll first discuss the users and what we should be
focusing on basis the impact and volumes that we can touch when you're able when
you're solving for them once we have shortlisted the user will list down their
pain points understand what is the impact and frequency of this pain point being
faced by them through the user journey that they follow through the complete
gallery visit that they do and before and after of the gallery visit as well in
look at some solutions and work on they are prioritization as well if time
permits will also look at metrics to be tracked for this particular app right so
for first in the user side my split is in this form that if we try to split the
gen z users we'd be able to split them in individual and groups and in groups we
look at people like who come in tourists and people who are school students who
are coming here and in individuals i'd like to divide them into subject matter
experts and wanderers right so if we discuss subject matter experts they their
characteristics look like they have depth they have an understanding of the
things that they are looking at they want to double click they want to
understand what that thing is about and no more and more and maybe take notes
about it and accuracy of the information is also important to them because they
have already read enough they already understood enough so their bucket is
filled with understanding so that can not be crossed with something incorrect or
inconsistent and if you look at groups so these people while they have these
subject matter experts and wanderers among them as well, but they want to focus
on things that can be related to what's being taught at school they should have
ways so that the complete set of people the complete range of people are engaged
not just broad wanderers or subject matter experts and obviously someone who can
engage multiple people a tourist guide or sorts is important so that people are
controlled and are not wandering away. Now if we want to pick out a user amongst
all of this I would rather go with wanderers peoples who have capacity to visit
museums they travel a lot they try to go out to places but they don't choose
museums probably because of a list of reasons and their intent is high compared
to subject matter experts or broad schools and tourists because tourists will
anyways visit a museum. So schools will plan this out on their own not from the
user's side and subject matter experts do not require intent creation while the
complete idea here is to increase the audience younger audience we'll try to
focus on people who need activation right. So the pain points that I can think
of why are the user journeys simple first is pre-visit how boring it is to make
a museum ticket booking and why would you be invested this is the first point in
the journey second is the guides that are available when at the center at our
better very high cost because they are mostly third party third party as in
their costs in India are especially decided by the person and not the museum and
third is no companions to visit with so for a few people it feels that this is a
single person process where they don't have anyone to discuss with and feel
boring alone and structured and not personalized is one thing where maybe I the
set of ways that the galleries made is not according to my plan of how I want to
visit it so it's not something that I can configure and make sure that I visit
it accordingly a lot of text and that means time consuming and boring which
means you have to read a lot of text to understand this maybe it is important
for subject matter experts and for its existence to be there but it does not
mean that it has to be boring when you're reading through the complete gallery
and it's again, time consuming as well. And last point is that everything is
static so you're looking at something and you can just look at it and read about
it you do not feel an experience and immerse yourself in the actual experience
or what it used to be like for example, looking at dinosaurs. And how exactly
could be or you're just looking at bones and the monstrosity in front of you
right? So looking at all of this I create an impact and frequency grid. So
pre-visit boringness is pretty high impact and high frequency. We are just
losing the complete person itself before even visiting the center guide
availability. High cost is also high impact less frequency because some people
prefer and are okay to pay that. No companions to visit with is medium impact
and medium frequency maybe the whole point of coming to a museum might be to
visit in a single person and not with a lot of people with a lot of chatter. And
structure and not personalized is sometimes needed because you don't want to
obviously overload mentally to understand how do you want to go about it and it
also doesn't create a story and sense about it so that is maybe better to be let
left to the experts within the museum. Lot of text and time consuming is super
high impact and higher frequency people constantly don't want to read they are
high on dopamine less attention span. And same for only static view no
visualizations it's just not fun enough to actually visit galleries. So basis
this we'll be working on pre-visit and guide available at a high cost as well as
a lot of text time and only static view, no visualization or ability to touch
and feel. So a few things before we actually come to the app is the website
redesign which would be completely turned into a story mode where exactly what
the museum is about should be available in story mode on the website where you
can scroll, scroll, read about it and then reach the buy now section where you
can actually buy tickets. This is where you connect references put in new
discoveries that are coming in. This is for people not just to come to the
museum but also discover about new things happening in the space and collect it.
We make sure that the resources are available on the platform and if possible,
make it interactive and tickets should be available with an incentive that once
tickets are purchased steps to how to have the complete experience will look
like, expected time and pre-read audio books should be given which means you
should be able to see audiobooks that are important and not directly link but is
important so that your time spent there would be more fruitful. Next comes the
AI glasses that needs to be linked to the mobile app. So AI glasses will be
provided to you AI and AR glasses in the beginning itself where you can you will
be assigned one AR glass you can wear it and this changes things on how the
complete experience will look like you will be entering the story mode again
this story mode and another mode will be the deep mode where you don't enter
into a story but you are just looking at everything in a very deep structured
format. In story mode, we'll be going through a set of stories which would
include each of the sections having its own text getting read in dramatic format
assuming these AI glasses AR glasses would have to be similar like Ray-Ban meta
glasses their audio is also thrown to your ears you are also able to translate
things wherever the language is different. And if the glasses can permit that it
should be visible on the screen and if not it should be available on the mobile
app connected to those AI glasses and the audio and the pace can be set by you
personally from the mobile app so that you can do it on your own pace you are
not being forced or not getting enough time to spend this is one other big
problem that will be tackled with this. Similarly items that feel like the items
you are looking at should be available to touch and feel which is not completely
related to how a mobile app should function or an AI or AR glass should function
but you can actually once looking at those specific objects their AR glasses
should turn them into visually what actually the gallery product is so that when
you pick it up for yourself you feel the product in your hand and when you also
see visually of how it would look like for example the bones or say the teeth of
a dinosaur a similar item which could have the same touch and feel of a dinosaur
teeth could be placed and in the AR glasses when you are touching it it could
feel like you are actually touching the teeth of a dinosaur very softly right AI
audio that answers your questions is also important everything is made
personalized and you can stop ask questions and get real-time answers and these
on a single click can be stored as notes within your app as well which means
notes are being taken you are storing everything in the mobile app and that can
be available for later on after the museum experience as well this becomes the
post visit experience where all these assets are downloadable we can also create
pictures that you stand with these figurines and these characters and get
pictures that can be posted on social media as well as these notes that can be
stored with a post read set of documents as well where people can go deep in
reading about these documents from the app itself so ideally if I am able to
prioritise amongst that I'll do a rise analysis and the rise analysis would say
the reach impact and effort for now we'll skip C and in reach impact and effort
the most important one is a AI glasses that will have the feature of test
reading in dramatic format that is really simple and should not be tough so
should be built and which has a very high impact on people getting the fun of it
second should be the AI audio that answers your question it is important so that
it can be at your base in the configurations of that speed can be changed so
this becomes part two where the impact is high effort is also medium and you can
build it on top of it an ability to take notes as well as change modes should be
next and after which we should come to the final section of simulating feelings
available directly in the museum itself so I think that's about it
