First, I would clarify what success looks like for the new project, how urgent
it is, and how much ownership the VP expects me to take. Then I would assess it
against my existing portfolio by reviewing major milestones, critical-path
activities, risks, and the amount of effort each project will require over the
next several weeks.

I would separate the work that truly requires my direct involvement from work
that could be delegated, streamlined, or supported by someone else. After that,
I would go back to the VP with a clear capacity assessment and options.

For example, I might say, “I can take ownership of this project, but with the
current capacity, we would need to move this milestone, reduce the scope of
another program, or assign additional support. Based on business impact and
technical risk, my recommendation is to prioritize these two projects and adjust
the others in this way.”

I would ask the VP to confirm the priorities so the trade-offs are intentional.
Once aligned, I would update the plans, communicate the changes, and closely
track capacity and risks. I would rather create transparency early than accept
all four projects and create execution risk later.

we could align in same goals together if it needed if I needed then I usually
improve the process or reduce risks by understanding those opinions when I was
at line I led one of the eyelid graphics and multimedia platform team when I
joined we only had 4 months left to lunch our new product so I focused on what
could be the biggest risk to launch our new product and I realized that we had a
high dependencies with designers and engineers and our designers were focusing
on the quality Engineers were focusing on reliability and planning team were
focusing with the quantity so there were very different priorities in each teams
so I took three steps first that was understanding why we had different
priorities and I realized that our design teams were concerned that lower
quality effect would hurt for the first impression so I understood about their
concern so my second step was defining launch criteria I analyzed our ux and
internal data also conducted X employees of interviews from competitors and I
was able to align on 80 types of effect for the minimum launch criteria my last
step was improving production speed since we only created two effects per month
than we only had 15 infection tour with 4 months of timeline we only launched
over 25 different types of effects so I analyze or the dependencies and
introduced automated process by introducing preset such as FaceTime background
type and segmentation type so that designers could create effect without relying
on engineers at the same time I improved our process from single process to two
types first one was hero type for the quality second one was scale of a tie for
the quantity and it's assigned the right owners as your result I increase the
production speed from two effect per months to 20 affect farmers which was 900%
of increase and I launched over 100 types of effects at the end so when I have
different key stack orders priorities my Approach was always understand
synthesize and I'll create a setting of criteria so that we could work together
keep execution on track
