With a major product launch on the horizon, expecting to triple the user load. The infrastructure was non-optimized for demand and incident response was non-harmonious across teams with no set process.
As the SRE Manager, I'd have to implement project changes to infrastructure to accommodate high availability and scalability. I discovered a long-standing issue surrounding incident response and observability that would make it all the more difficult to achieve reliability under pressure and peak traffic.
Therefore, instead of fulfilling the project requirements as presented, I became an advocate for change across the organization. I established an observability platform with 100% stack coverage, created custom SLOs/SLIs/error budgets to enhance performance and reliability visibility, drafted and socialized an incident management playbook across the company and held hands-on trainings for all respective teams. In addition, I advocated for Terraform for Infrastructure as Code to help with deployment time and held FinOps reviews to help eliminate redundant costs in cloud spend.
As a result, we did not only survive the 3X traffic upon product launch with zero critical incidents, but we also achieved 15% saves the following years in cloud costs and 40% faster deployments. Many of the processes I created were adopted as company-wide best practices.

· During my current project, there was a critical plugin that a few team members were working on that needed to be completed by the end of the sprint, as other teams were depending on it for testing.
· And as the deadline was approaching, it was clear that they were falling behind schedule.
· And since I had already completed all of my assigned tasks, I offered to help the team finish the plugin.
· So, we split the remaining work into smaller, manageable tasks, and I was able to take ownership in developing the user interface.
· This allowed the rest of the team to focus on the backend logic and validating the radar message formats, which was a more difficult task.
· And by dividing the work, we reduced the workload on individual team members and were able to finish the plugin on time.

In my previous project, the team struggled to execute all the end-to-end regression test scenarios within the given timeline. Based on the schedule, they would not have been able to complete even 30% of the overall scenarios.
To address this, I collaborated with the team to develop a solution. We updated the status of all previously progressed orders and reverted them to an earlier state. This allowed the team to execute the program and verify whether the orders were being processed correctly in the OTM and GTM modules. We also ensured that the values were being updated accurately.
By reusing existing orders instead of creating new ones, the team avoided unnecessary effort and saved significant time, enabling them to focus on the required changes.
This approach helped the team complete the execution of test scenarios well ahead of the deadline.
