My approach to symplifying ApplyBoard's for non-technical customers would be to
use simple words to describe each feature, each action that could be made and
improved based on customers needs. I would share a mock up so we can have a talk
with a visual design on what expectations of the product the customers have.
What do they like? What they would like to change. I would explain what is
feasible or not feasible based on my technical knowlledge and also paramters
like cost, priorities, market trends etc I can propose a play role: "you want to
apply to the project what do you do? whare do you click? What do you expect? And
based on result i would get back to product team with the feedback.
