While working in my current team "A" we were dealing with inefficient data
modelling with proliferations of database views used to embed business logic.
This resulted in complex dependencies in data pipelines, redundancy of code and
complexity in making changes. As we were working on the design i suggested my
team to look for solutions and approach so that we can standardize the data
model and implement process and gaurdrails to avoid inefficient code and data
models getting pushed in production. Team came back with a proposal to adopt DBT
for templatizing data models and implement best practices for testing. DBT
provided a novel framework to implement best practices and standards. Customers
and business users also were excited to adopt the changes.
