One way to detect and resolve memory leaks is to set a monitor on application
server or background worker memory usage and have telemetry be sent to a tool
like NewRelic. From there, we'd use available traces to find some potential
culprits that are processing lots of data, fetching a lot of records from a
database, or keeping large variables around during complicated processing. We
could add logging that's sent to our logging service to see what the current
process's memory footprint looks like and capture a delta of memory footprint
before and after a likely code path leading to heavy memory usage.
