key resource holders and my manager. I also informed them about next steps.

to get his buyin to reshcuffle the resource.

Situation/Task: I was working on a migration project which had lots of ambiguity
and external dependencies. I was asked to meet a deadline which I could not
commit to.

Action: I got time estimates from dependencies and built a burndown chart with
developer time taken and added buffer for oncall/vacations. Got it reviewed by
manager and director and estimated the number of devs it would take. We did not
have enough devs so some features had to be moved below the line for the
migration to be IA to teams, with other features as fast follow.

Result: I was able to meet the stripped down product deadline and not all teams
were able to immediately use our product but on balance it was good.

a) I talked to my manager about the need reshuffling a resource from other team
while the fellow developer was still serving his notice period
b) Made sure that he gave KT to the new fellow regularly and completed the
handover of his part

Last time I was on a project with tight deadlines What I did first was to have
an internal meeting with the people involved in the project, and of course those
who have impact on desicions, so we can be all in the same page.
What I request from my side was to prioritize objectives and tasks, so I know
where I need to focus my effort on, and next define second priority.
Once these is defined I estimated time that Ill need to cover get to the
deadline and what would be the definition of Ready or Done for those priorities.
Next be aligned in what is needed in order to get there and who are the people
involved that I would need to validate, test or ask for feedback to move on.
