Situation: “The most challenging program I’ve delivered was OneGO, an enterprise
forecasting and analytics platform for Oncology Business Unit. It covered 10
brands across 18 oncology indications. The core problem was that key regions
each used their own forecast models, so assumptions, structures and outputs
didn’t line up. Consolidating a global forecast was slow and manual, and
granular markets like the US were especially hard to fit into a common format.”

Task: “My job was to standardize how forecasts were built and consolidated
across regions, and get the business to actually adopt it.”

Constraints: “The biggest obstacle wasn’t technical. It was resistance from
business stakeholders who were comfortable with their own models and didn’t want
to change. On top of that, a lot went wrong in execution: regions missed
timelines, templates arrived late, and we had serious version control problems,
with multiple versions of assumptions circulating and no clear source of truth.”

Actions: “I tackled it on three fronts. First, we designed a standardized
forecast template that worked for every region, including a granular structure
for markets like the US. Second, to overcome resistance, I trained each
geography individually instead of doing one broad rollout. That let me address
each region’s specific concerns and show them how the template fit their work.
Third, I fixed the process problems by creating a shared, central location for
templates and assumptions, with version tracking, so everyone worked from the
latest version and we could see who had submitted what and when.”

Result: “We cut the time to consolidate forecast assumptions by more than 50%.
OneGO became the key repository for forecast assumptions, and the storylines and
views were consumed directly by the C-suite. We then automated and scaled the
process for both short-term and long-term forecasting.”

Lesson: “What I learned is that the hardest part wasn’t the technology. It was
getting people aligned on a common standard, then building the process around
it: training, ownership, version control and a single source of truth.
