Yes, I support diversity in team or in organization, but at the same time there
should be some minimum bar of skill set, attitude & expectation from each level
that we should honor and maintain.
Situation: Let me walk you through to one of my past project experiences, there
was a ask from the leadership  to improve the male/female ratio in the
organization to support diversity. 
Task: We were looking to hire 3-4 engineer across different level junior &
senior engineers. And current male-to-female ratio in my team was 1:0
Action: I prepared the job description with recruiter team and set the very
clear and relevant skill-set expectations so that our resume screening become
easy. And I further told my team to set the relevant coding and system design
problems which are very much similar to the project asks. We planned to build
the female candidates pipeline first and kept the male candidate list as a
stand-by and time boxed the activity in a way to not to risk the project
delivery timelines.
Result: As a result of this strategy we were able to get good number of female
candidates who cleared all the interview rounds that it would become quite hard
decision to whom to select and whom to reject.
At the end we extend the offer to top female candidates and pass-on rest of the
list who marginally behind to other team's hiring manager so that we won't loose
on good candidates. and eventually ore ratio increase to 2:1
Ultimately we need to bring-up the average quotient of team's performance and
knowledge base. End of the day we are committed to serve our customer in the
best possible way to build businesses and relationship for long term. Above
instance showed that if we plan and strategize well we can easily achieve
diversity without compromising company goals and bar.

Who building the team, ensure that the recruiting pipeline is diverse having
candidates from a broad range of companies, and educational institutions and
with a variety of experiences. Avoid building a team of clones in terms
backgrounds, technology exposure and thought processes.
