Conflict resolution and arising conflicts in workplace are unavoidable but people shouldn't take it personally and be objective about it
I have encountered multiple such scenarios and the step 1 is to understand the problem on which the conflict arise and both perspectives. Once you have the grip on that, see how both of them can feel good while achieving business objective via problem solving.
Depending on the instance sometime 3 way communication help while other times discussing with one or the other would resolve issue.
