The project team needs people who can:
- Understand what the business needs: They can take the business goals and figure out what the technology needs to do to achieve those goals.
- Plan the technical "how-to": They can come up with a technical plan (the strategy) for building the solution.
- Make the plan a reality: They can work hard and carefully (diligently) to build what they planned and deliver the expected results.

Okay a successful project I think has three main ingredients. 1. The criticality of the project should be obvious to leadership. I've seen multiple projects in my career that are truly important and can move the needle for the business but that opinion is not shared by product leaders and those projects end up not ever seeing the light of day. The next thing is the project needs to be stuffed with folks that are able to work through the business requirements to formulate a technical strategy and see that Vision through and deliver results diligently. This will also need the right stakeholders to be involved from the get-go. The third thing is very precise project management and execution project that routinely see slips or causes churn to the rest of the system by not keeping up to the Quality Bar that is expected or by eroding trust with stakeholders it's not a successful project so ensuring that key decisions are made carefully and quickly, impediments to progress are demolished swiftly are critical. Excellent execution also means we're ready for unexpected surprises, changes in direction etc.
