Latches are level sensitive. The output will equal the input as long as the
clock is high. Flip-flops are edge sensitive. The output will reflect the input
only after a clock transition. Usually the change happens on the rising edge of
the clock, but a flip flop can be designed to trigger on the falling edge.

The difference between latch and flip flop is as follows:
Latches are edge triggered and whenever there is any change in input, output
also changes. 
Whereas, in flip flop even though input changes , it will be checked only at the
active edge of the clock. Flip flops are made up of latches.
