I am really attracted to Palantir's emphasis on impact, especially through the
FDSE position where I would directly work with clients to understand the problem
and deliver results directly to them. For instance a couple days a go during my
one-on-one meeting with the manager that had been overseeing the integration of
Foundry into my current company CSL, he explained that one of the automation
engineers had utilized the batch genology and deviation dashboards that I helped
the palantir vendors develop to not only detect a deviaiton earlier than usual
but also determine the exact root cause within a day. Because all the data was
consolidated in one place, and it had been cleaned and presented in
user-friendly UI that anyone could easily interact with and not be hindered by
technical issues, they were able to rely on their strong domain knowledge to
identify the issue and resolve it much faster. orgiinally, they would've had to
wait to receive the data from different resources, then consolidate the data
into one spreadsheet, clean it up, and then finally analyze it; learning about
how we were able to empower this person to make the most of the newly managed
data further solidied my interest in the FDSE position at Palantir as I would
get to see firsthand the impact we can make on clients and ensure we remove any
technical blockades that may exist that prevent these people from achieveing
their full potential in their domain.
