Hiring need to be fair, measurable and bias-free.
I approach candidates based on the role we are hiring for.
I am looking for job fit (technical, project management): I interview them to learn about their experience, beliefs and decision making.
I am looking for collaborative and "winning together" mindset
I am looking for their purpose and customer success driven mentality.
There are known obstacles to passing interviews. Sometimes interview mechanics get in a way of providing successful answer. I am sensitive to that and try to decouple technical issues with UI, remote call, etc from person's skills and mindset. I ensure that our conversation is as comfortable as it could be.
Examples:
I always ask if the time and environment is right for the interview. I offered many times to call at a different time if that will allow for a better conversation.
I analyzed common False Negative outcomes when we had to reject very intelligent and motivated candidates.
I further developer training that I delivered with HR/recruiting helping candidates to prepare and overcome technicalities that result in failures.
All of that will remain the same at Meta or any other company
