Look for functional skills with prior tech experience and be able to solve abstract problem leveraging expertise in depth in details. Especially for senior roles need non-functional skills such that they have ability to coach junior engineers and bring out fresh and diverse perspectives to solve problems. Ability to communicate effectively with team and management. Above scenario makes them effective from Week 1 in ability to drive strong cultural values within the team while being able to adopt and deliver results for the tech programs depending on business needs.
